RTI Joins The Industrial Internet Consortium As Initial Member

Sunnyvale, Calif.—April 7, 2014—Real-Time Innovations (RTI), the real-time Internet of Things communications platform company, today announced they are initial members of the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC).  The Object Management Group (OMG), a nonprofit trade association in Boston, will manage the IIC.  The goal of the IIC is to accelerate the development of connected industrial applications. As the leading DDS vendor, RTI provides a key communications infrastructure for managing the distribution of real-time information in the industrial internet. The IIC, an open membership, not-for-profit group, will break down technology silos to improve integration of the physical and digital worlds.

RTI is the leading provider of the core technology – DDS – the most popular physical-to-digital link in Internet of Things applications.  DDS, the Data Distribution Service, is a key technology standard that is also managed by the OMG.  Many Fortune 500 customers use the RTI DDS implementation across several industries, including medical, energy, aviation and automotive.

“The Industrial Internet needs a strong connection that joins cyber-physical devices into high-performance intelligent systems,” said Stan Schneider, CEO of RTI. “The OMG is an ideal organization to foster cooperation between the leading companies to make this happen.   As a long-term member of the OMG and a primary driver of the DDS standard, we are excited to assume a leadership role in providing the technology and in working with our partners and peers in the IIC.”

RTI will work with the IIC to identify requirements for open interoperability standards and define a common architecture to connect devices, machines, people, processes and data.

MaxLinear Integrates Analog & Digital Design in One Chip with Cadence 3D Solvers

Sponsored by Cadence Design Systems

MaxLinear has the unique capability of integrating analog and digital design on the same chip. Because of this, the team developed some interesting technology in the communication space. In the optical infrastructure domain, they created the first fully integrated 5nm CMOS PAM4 DSP. All their products solve critical communication and high-frequency analysis challenges.

Learn more about how MaxLinear is using Cadence’s Clarity 3D Solver and EMX Planar 3D Solver in their design process.

Designing Robust 5G Power Amplifiers for the Real World

Sponsored by Keysight

Simulating 5G power amplifier (PA) designs at the component and system levels with authentic modulation and high-fidelity behavioral models increases predictability, lowers risk, and shrinks schedules. Simulation software enables multi-technology layout and multi-domain analysis, evaluating the impacts of 5G PA design choices while delivering accurate results in a single virtual workspace. This application note delves into how authentic modulation enhances predictability and performance in 5G millimeter-wave systems.
