Xilinx Spartan-7 FPGAs Now in Production

Flexible, I/O-intensive devices now available for order and supported in Vivado Design Suite

May 09, 2017

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Xilinx, Inc. (XLNX) today announced that its Spartan®-7 family of FPGAs is now available for order and shipping to standard lead times. As a key member of Xilinx’s Cost-Optimized Portfolio, this device family is designed to meet the needs of cost-sensitive markets by delivering low cost and low power entry points that are I/O optimized for connectivity with industry leading performance-per-watt.

Available in small form factor packaging, Spartan-7 FPGAs offer expanded temperature ranges of –40° to +125°C in commercial devices. The Spartan-7 family also offers enhanced processor scalability at lower cost entry points, with 50 percent higher embedded performance than previous generations using Xilinx® 32-bit MicroBlaze™ soft processor IP. Spartan-7 devices also offer a layered security solution with AES-256 bitstream decryption, SHA-256 bitstream authentication, and on-chip eFUSE key storage.

Now for the first time, Spartan FPGA-based designs can take advantage of the Vivado® Design Suite, giving users even more productivity advantages. All Spartan-7 FPGAs are supported by the no-cost Vivado® HL WebPACK™ Edition, as well as the Vivado HL Design and System Editions.
