QDR Consortium Unveils New, Highest-Speed QDR SRAMs

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 20, 2011 – The QDR Consortium, which includes Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NASDAQ:CY) and Renesas Electronics Corporation(TSE: 6723), today announced the industry’s fastest Quad Data Rate (QDR) SRAMs (static random access memory). The new memory devices will be named QDRII+ Xtreme and will operate at clock speeds as fast as 633 megahertz (MHz). They will be fit-, form- and function-compatible with existing QDR II+ devices, allowing manufacturers of network switches, routers and aggregation platforms to boost performance by simply increasing clock speeds within the system without any board design changes.

Security manager provides superior data protection regardless of power source

SUNNYVALE, CA—April 20, 2011—Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the DS3660, a security manager with 1024 bytes of nonimprinting memory to securely store sensitive data. The on-chip nonimprinting memory, which consists of eight 128-byte banks, can be selectively cleared by end users based on user-specified tamper events. Additionally, the DS3660 device features an internal 1.8V bias source to power low-voltage external SRAM that can be used to store less critical data, and it is configurable to operate with a low-voltage microprocessor for battery-operated devices.
