Newark supplier Weller Tools celebrates 80 years of innovation with the introduction of Special Black Edition WE1010 and ZeroSmog Shield

Phoenix  – July 29, 2025: Newark is proud to acknowledge a significant milestone for one of its key suppliers, Weller Tools. A leading hand soldering provider celebrates 80 years of innovation led by German engineering based near Stuttgart.  Weller continues to with excellence in consistently setting industry standards for precision, reliability and performance with their soldering and accompanying fume extraction and accessories ranges.

As part of its celebrations, Weller is introducing a special new black edition of its WE1010 soldering station and the new ZeroSmog Shield fume extraction system in keeping with eight decades of innovation and progress in soldering solutions for both enthusiasts and professionals.

The WE1010 Black Edition delivers the same trusted performance and user-friendly operation as the original WE1010 but features a sleek, commemorative black design and 80th anniversary logo. The black design is a nod to the original Weller devices, which were initially made of black Bakelite before later switching to ESD-safe plastics.

The WE1010 has a 70W solder iron with ergonomic handle, toolless hot tip change, an ESD safe station, plus a heat-resistant silicon cable for safe handling. The WE1010 uses ET soldering tips and features a standby mode and password-protected auto reset mode that helps to conserve energy and protect equipment.

The ZeroSmog Shield is engineered to complement Weller’s soldering stations by providing high-efficiency fume extraction, ensuring a cleaner, safer work environment for soldering professionals designed for intermittent use in laboratories, R&D and educational institutes. It comes with an easy to change EPA E10 filter and an integrated work light to indicate the optimal extraction area. This special edition black product underscores Weller’s legacy of innovation, safety and performance in protecting the users health whilst soldering.
