DDC-I Features DO-178C Multi-core RTOS at Ground Vehicle Systems Engineering & Technology Symposium & Modernization Update

Phoenix, AZ – August 13, 2024. DDC-I, a leading supplier of software and professional services for mission- and safety-critical applications, today announced that it will demonstrate its safety-critical DO-178C Deos™ real-time operating system and integrated display capabilities at the Ground Vehicle Systems Engineering & Technology Symposium (GVSETS) & Modernization Update, which will be held at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, MI from August 13-15.

DDC-I will host demos showcasing the Deos safety-critical real-time operating system (RTOS), which utilizes the latest DO-178C Design Assurance Level A (DAL A) multi-core verified baseline. The demos will highlight the integration of Deos with third party data transformation and graphics products for building and hosting mission/safety-critical warfighter displays.

Demo #1, which was created using the Ansys SCADE display design and development environment, runs on an NXP i.MX8qm processor with an integrated Vivante GC7000 GPU. Featuring the CoreAVI VkCoreGL® SC driver and libraries, the demo focuses on creating graphical instruments and grouping data from multiple systems onto a single display.

Demo #2 will showcase the Deos host development tools (IDE) and Deos environment running on an Intel Tiger Lake reference platform.

Demo #3 will showcase an integration with Avilution’s eXtensible Flight System (xfs) product that provides data abstraction and transformation between systems to allow for seamless integration. The demo is running on North Atlantic Industries platform utilizing a Xilinx Ultrascale+ processor.

“Deos is used by several military system integrators and avionics vendors to develop and deploy systems that provide mission-critical information to the crew. The 16th annual GVSETS & Modernization Update, sponsored by the National Defense Industrial Association’s (NDIA) Michigan Chapter, in coordination with The Engineering Society of Detroit (ESD), provides the opportunity to personally network and share technical research with approximately 2,000 attendees, including scientists and engineers from government, academia and industry.

The NDIA is dedicated to enhancing warfighter capabilities and finding solutions for capability gaps which are growing in scope and complexity for current and future conflicts. The focus of the 2024 GVSETS is partnering with industry, government, and academia to explore technical areas that can support future formations and the digitization of the current and future Army. 

Technical sessions will cover autonomy, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital/ systems engineering, modeling, simulation, prototyping, validation, Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), power and mobility, and lab to logistics. Panel discussions will include warfighting, digital engineering, Detroit Arsenal Leadership 

and congressional action.
