Bourns Expands AEC-Q200 Compliant, Automotive Grade Current Sense Resistor Line Offering Higher Power Rating, Wider Resistance Range

Extension of Bourns wide-terminal CRK Series delivers up to 3 W of power dissipation in a small 1225 footprint, supporting the needs in today’s higher current applications

RIVERSIDE, Calif., July 9, 2025 – Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, today announced its Model CRK1225 current sense resistor, an extension of the Company’s popular CRK Series. Providing up to 3 W of power dissipation and supporting a wider resistance range, this AEC-Q200 compliant, automotive grade series uses metal strip technology in a wide terminal design that enhances thermal dissipation and reduces hot spots. Offered in a small 1225 package, this new current sense resistor is an ideal voltage measurement solution for today’s higher current applications, including power supplies, stepper motor drives, input amplifiers, electric vehicle Battery Management Systems (BMS), on-board chargers, ADAS and power domain controllers.

Current sense resistors are growing in popularity due to their small package size, accurate TCR and relatively low cost compared to other technologies. The Model CRK1225 features resistance values down to 1 milliohm (mΩ) to enable accurate current sensing with minimal power loss. This series is suitable for certain harsh environments with thermal/mechanical stress, and its anti-sulfur design offers a solution for sulfur-rich or polluted environments.

The Bourns® Model CRK1225 is available now through Bourns’ authorized distribution partners, and is RoHS compliant* and halogen free**. For more detailed product information, please see: bourns.com/products/resistors/current-sense-resistors.
