ADLINK Launches Smart Touch Computers with Future-Proof Design

ADLINK Technology, Inc., a leading global provider of cloud-based services, intelligent gateways, and embedded building blocks for edge devices that enable the Internet of Things (IoT), today introduced its latest panel PC for industrial applications, the Smart Touch Computer (STC). Designed using the Smart Mobility Architecture (SMARC) computer-on-module concept to offer maximum flexibility and scalability when developing and upgrading end solutions, the STC is available with 10.4”, 12.1” and 15” touchscreen displays (STC-1005/1205/1505) and is powered by a quad-core Intel® Atom™ processor E3845. The STC features an IP65-rated front panel to withstand harsh environmental conditions, is designed for easy installation and maintenance, and meets the demanding requirements of a wide range of industries.

The Smart Touch Computers’ thin, compact aluminum enclosure is not only attractive but also provides a front bezel with IP65-rated protection, shielding them from dust and water jets, enabling increased system uptime and easy cleaning to boost productivity. ADLINK STCs are available with either projected capacitive or 5-wire resistive multiple touchscreen options for easy operation.

“ADLINK’s Smart Touch Computers provide engineers and system integrators the benefits of both standard and custom platforms in a single future-proof design,” said Richard Tai, head of ADLINK’s Display Computing Product Segment. “In addition, the SMARC computer-on-module design concept supports different operating systems to meet specific end-user application requirements.”

Unlike conventional panel computers, ADLINK STCs leverage the SMARC design concept to simplify the process of implementing different solutions to meet specific requirements with one uniform platform. STCs are also equipped with standard I/O ports and also feature a proprietary expansion slot allowing customization for specific application requirements.

ADLINK’s Smart Touch Computers support VESA and panel mounting and can be installed in a control cabinet or on a support arm to suit different working environments. For data storage, an externally accessible SATA drive and SD card slot are provided for easy maintenance and updates.
