ADLINK Launches State-of-the-art cPCI Blade with Eight-Core Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2448L

August 14, 2012 – SAN JOSE, CA – ADLINK Technology, Inc. (TAIEX: 6166), a leading provider of trusted embedded computing products, today announced availability of the cPCI-6930a next-generation 6U dual-slot CompactPCI® (cPCIprocessor blade that demonstrates ADLINK’s leadership in the development of high performancecompute blades with flexible expansion capabilities. The cPCI-6930 features 1.8 GHz eight-core Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2448L, Intel® C604 chipset, and DDR3-1333ECC registered memory up to 48GB capacity. On-card connectivity includes four front panel GbE egress ports4GB soldered SATA NAND flash, optional bootableCompactFlash socketand optional SAS/SATA direct connector for an onboard 2.5 drive to provide flexible storage capabilitiesRear I/O connectivity includes up to three SATA ports and up to eight SAS ports supporting hardware RAID via two mini-SAS connectors. The cPCI-6930 is ideal for server-grade applications, providing telecom anddatacom system integratorsrobust computer makers, and security sectors a flexible, cost-effective solution for mission critical applications with a reliable, smooth path forscalability and expansion.

With its eight-core Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2448L and three independent channels of DDR3-1333 RDIMM memory up to 48GB capacity, the cPCI-6930 delivers the computing power of 16 concurrent threads, massive I/O and memory capacity, and flexible connectivity for high-end telecom and security applications requiring server-classperformance,” stated Eric Kao, director of ADLINK’s Embedded Computing Product Segment.

With Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology, the cPCI-6930 utilizes processor resources more efficiently, enabling multiple threads to run on each core to increase processor throughput, improving overall performance on threaded software. Intel® Turbo Boost Technology allows the cPCI-6930 to run faster than the base operating frequency if operating below power, current, and temperature specification limits, maximizing performance and energy efficiency.

Highspeed data-transfer via four front panel GbE ports is enabled on the cPCI-6930 by an Intel® 82580EB Gigabit Ethernet controller. Two additional GbE ports are routed to the J3 connector to support PICMG 2.16. Additional onboard I/O includes one VGA porttwo USB 3.0 ports, three USB 2.0 ports and one RS-232 serial port. The cPCI-6930 also provides a PMC/XMC expansion site supporting 64-bit 133MHz PCI modules or PCI Express x8 XMC modules.
