CUI’s ac-dc modules deliver up to 2 Watts from 0.8 in3 space-saving package

TUALATIN, Ore. – July 10, 2012 – CUI Inc announces 12 new ac-dc encapsulated power modules for space-constrained applications. The 1 W VSK-S1 series and 2 W VSK-S2 series feature ultra-compact 0.8 in3 packages measuring 1.32” x 0.87” x 0.70” (33.7 x 22.2 x 18 mm). With industry-leading no-load power consumption of 100 mW, the modules are ideal for primary or auxiliary power conversion in a variety of ITE, consumer electronics, and industrial control applications.

An input range of 85~305 Vac makes these ac-dc modules suitable for lighting and smart building systems that operate from 277 Vac. Up to 78% efficient, with an operating temperature range of -25 to 70 degrees C, the power supplies feature very low ripple and noise.

The 1 W and 2 W families have output voltages of 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15 and 24 Vdc. Protections for over voltage, short circuit and over temperature are included. Additionally, all models are 3 kVac isolated, carry CE and UL/cUL 60950-1 safety certifications, and are compliant with the EN 55022 Class B EMI standard. The VSK series is available immediately through Digi-Key with prices starting at $7.88 per unit for 1,000 pieces.  Please contact CUI for OEM pricing.
