Mouser Collaborates with Texas Instruments to Present Sensors in Design Tool Swap Event at Design West 2012

March 21, 2012 – Mouser Electronics, Inc., regarded as one of the industry’s top design engineering resource and global distributor for semiconductors and electronic components, today announces that, together with Texas Instruments, it will host the “Sensors Tool Swap Event” on Wednesday, March 28th at 4:45 pm in the Sensors in Design Theater (co-located with ESC at DESIGN West 2012 at McEnery Convention Center, San Jose, California).

Design engineers are encouraged to bring in any sensor-based hardware tool (evaluation module) to Wednesday’s event at the sensors theater and exchange it for their complimentary choice of new select Texas Instruments tools. While in the theater, they will have a chance to view live demos presented by TI and see which tool best fits their application needs. This exclusive event for design engineers is aimed at ensuring that all attendees walk away from DESIGN West 2012 with the most current and state-of-the-art sensor tools at their disposal.

“Mouser is in lockstep with the changing needs of electronics engineers and business executives,” says Larry Johannes, Vice President of Strategic Marketing at Mouser Electronics. “This tool swap further illustrates our commitment to keeping design engineers on the cutting edge of the technology race and providing them access to the most high-tech products with the fastest time to market.”

Tools offered in exchange include:

  • ADS1118EVM — The ADS1118EVM is a complete solution for evaluation of the ADS1118 ultra-small, low-power, 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), which targets thermocouple measurement and bridge sensors. Power and I/O are provided via USB connection and a simple software interface. Inputs for a thermocouple are provided on board, plus two additional uncommitted inputs are available.
  • ADS1248EVM — The ADS1248EVM is an evaluation board for the ADS1248, a 24-bit, multi-channel, delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC), which targets temperature measurement in RTDs, thermocouples and thermistors. The modular EVM uses the ADS1248 and minimal circuitry to demonstrate functionality for prototyping and part evaluation.
  • 430BOOST-TMP006 — LaunchPad is an easy-to-use development tool intended for beginners and experienced users alike for creating microcontroller-based applications. The LaunchPad offers everything you need to get started with your projects, and provides a complete hardware and software reference design for MSP430.  Combine the power LaunchPad with the TMP006 BoosterPack module.   The TMP006 is the world’s smallest and most highly integrated infrared thermopile sensor enabling contactless temperature measurements at a fraction of the cost of any other solution.
  • LMP90100EB – The LMP90100EB allows easy evaluation and design-in of the LMP901000 Sensor AFE family of low power 16- and 24-bit fully-programmable ∑Δ analog front ends (AFE) and can be used stand-alone or as part of the integrated hardware and software development platform. Ideal for high-precision, multi-sensor temperature, pressure, load, and force applications.
  • LMP91200EVAL – The LMP91200EVAL allows easy evaluation and design-in of the LMP91200 configurable analog front end (AFE) for low-power chemical pH sensing applications. It can be used stand-alone or as part of the integrated hardware and software development platform and is ideal for pH sensor platforms.

As the Signature Sponsor of UBM’s Design West 2012 Event, Mouser will have a large presence at the Seven-Summit Show, including a Main Booth #1529 at ESC, and Booth #2337 at the Sensors in Design Event, along with a display at the Designing with LEDs workshop. At Mouser’s multi-media island booth #1529, design engineers will be able to take photos with Mouser’s history-making #88 IndyCar and register for a great assortment of the newest embedded development kits and tools from top manufacturers.
