This platform is outstanding for first quad core SKU and great performance improvement from previous platform. Therefore, SOM-5790 is especially suitable for high-end application demanding for better CPU performance and intense graphic, such as telecom, medical, gaming, video surveillance and military field.
Perfect Migration Choices
With new type 6 pin-out defined in COM.0 R2.0, more upcoming new platforms will be designed in this new pin-out type. However, Advantech considered that there are still many upgrading demand from customers adopting type 2 design, so Advantech provides both type 6 (SOM-5890) and type 2 (SOM-5790) modules for 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i7/i5/i3 platform. SOM-5790promises the continuation of legacy I/O support such as PCI and IDE, ensuring that customers could transfer and upgrade more smoothly.
Embedded Intelligent Management: iManager
Advantech held revolutionary perspective from pure hardware vendor to a partner helping customer solve any problem they met during product development. Advantech iManager is a new embedded firmware to greatly enhance system reliability and provide users an easy and stable (OS-Independent) way to manage onboard devices.
