POURS stands for Avnet’s point of use replenishment system, a program introduced in 1992. This comprehensive, web-based inventory management app enables customers with an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to monitor activity and take action on exceptions without logging into the POURS website from their PC. In cases where the purchasing team or management needs to approve orders, they can now be notified on their mobile phone and can complete the approval process with a few quick clicks. When inventory ships from the supplier, the advance ship notice appears in the app so that users can easily track shipments directly from their iPhone or iPad.
“Avnet’s POURS app gives customers full access to their replenishment database, allowing them to approve orders, track shipments or reconcile exceptions from anywhere,” said Chuck Delph, senior vice president of sales, Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas. “For 20 years, Avnet has supported our customers’ needs with our revolutionary POURS program; adding the mobile functionality takes it to a new level of convenience.”
The free POURS application can be found in the iTunes store by searching for “Avnet POURS.” This app is available in English and is compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Customers must have a POURS user ID and password to access their account. Existing POURS customers can log into the app with the same user ID and password that they use at www.POURS.com. New users can request additional information or a demonstration of POURS functionality by calling 1-800-994-4183.
