FPGA Miniaturization Services Available for Commercial & Military Applications

March 10th, 2011 – Nallatech, a leading supplier of high-performance FPGA solutions for over eighteen years, announces the availability of FPGA miniaturization services. Customers can engage this service on a turnkey concept-through-production basis or they can contract Nallatech to migrate their FPGA development boards/prototypes into fully-deployable miniaturized solutions.

This seamless integration of FPGA systems design and high-density packaging is cost effective across a wide range of production volumes and applications; including requirements with size, weight, and power constraints. A proven co-development methodology significantly lowers risks in bare die and packaged IC implementations by pro-actively addressing critical issues such as design verification and design for manufacturability.

Allan Cantle, President and founder of Nallatech commented, “We have seen a significant increase in the number, and diversity, of size-constrained FPGA implementations. Nallatech is uniquely positioned to deliver aggressively miniaturized solutions by leveraging our in-house algorithm development, FPGA programming, and architecture optimization expertise with the 3D and advanced packaging capabilities of our parent company; Interconnect Systems, Inc.”

Quick-turn solutions are available for a wide range of applications including: medical imaging and diagnostics, UAVs, signal intelligence, and near-sensor processing. Design capabilities include turnkey development of firmware and software. An extensive library of IP cores reduces the time needed to develop interfaces, freeing up resources to focus on implementing higher-value features that differentiate customers’ products.

High Power Charging Inlets
All major truck and bus OEMs will be launching electric vehicle platforms within the next few years and in order to keep pace with on-highway and off-highway EV innovation, our charging inlets must also provide the voltage, current and charging requirements needed for these vehicles. In this episode of Chalk Talk, Amelia Dalton and Drew Reetz from TE Connectivity investigate charging inlet design considerations for the next generation of industrial and commercial transportation, the differences between AC only charging and fast charge and high power charging inlets, and the benefits that TE Connectivity’s ICT high power charging inlets bring to these kinds of designs.
