Next-gen contact lenses could send emails directly to your eyes

Parviz-Contact-Lens.jpg

Computers are getting smaller and smaller every day, and many people can now do most of their online work via their phones. However within a few years devices could get much smaller – and we could have contact lenses that project our emails directly onto our eyeballs. A team from Washington University recently completed trials on a new generation of contact lenses that could enable people to read their emails … Read More → "Next-gen contact lenses could send emails directly to your eyes"

vsr2.jpg

If floating along in a boat propelled only by the gentle push of an ocean breeze is your idea of relaxing, then you might want to steer clear of the aptly named VESTAS Sailrocket 2. Designed and built from the ground up with a focus on speed, the boat and the VSR2 team have headed to Walvis Bay in Namibia with the aim of breaking the outright world speed sailing record for the short distance 500 meters (1,640 ft) of 55.65 knots (64 mph/103 … Read More → "VESTAS Sailrocket 2 sets its sights on world speed sailing record"

Engineers from the US and Finland have tested a wireless contact lens featuring a working LED light on a living eye for the first time.

Standing in his office in Tel Aviv, Mr Rosen recalls the moment: “They went on stage … Read More → "How Israel turned itself into a high-tech hub"

The 2011 All Japan Micromouse Competition

Ng Beng Kiat is literally The Wizard when it comes to micromouse robotics. Yesterday at the 2011 All Japan Micromouse Robot Competition in Tsukuba, Japan he proved, once again, that he’s the man to beat. HIs full size micro mouse robot entry, named Min7.1 blazed through the maze course in 3.921 seconds, which I believe is a new record. Breaking the 4 second barrier, something no one would have believed possible a few years ago. It’s tantamount to Roger Bannister breaking the 4 minute mile barrier. via Read More → "The 2011 All Japan Micromouse Competition"

The Google Street View car is a repressed artist

Screen_Shot_2011-11-21_at_11.17.07_AM.png

The Google Street View car works hard, taking pictures for maps all day. Who knew that it longs for something deeper, truer, more meaningful? While we rarely notice, it captures beauty everywhere it goes. It’s simply a misunderstood artist.

A talented Pittsburgh-born photographer by the name of Aaron Hobson has taken the time to comb through many of Google Street View’s images, and while I can’t … Read More → "The Google Street View car is a repressed artist"
