The Mayan apocalypse paranoia has gotten so widespread that NASA was compelled to create a website that explains why the world will not end later this month on 21 December 2012.
In response to the question of whether the world will come to harm in 2012, NASA’s answer is an irrevocable ‘no’—in their words, “the world will not end in 2012. Our planet has been getting along just fine for more than 4 billion years, and credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012”.
