Early footage shows a ride on the New York City subway in 1905 (video)

This 1905 film recorded aboard a subway train in New York City shows one of the first routes of the city’s subway just a year after the system opened. The film provides an amazing glimpse of the subway and its remarkably dapper riders from more than a century ago.
