Agilent Technologies, DeMille Research Inc. to Offer CAD Translation, Test Development Tools for Agilent Medalist In-Circuit Testers

SANTA CLARA and LAKE FOREST, Calif., Jan. 29, 2010

Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) and DeMille Research Inc (DRI)., a leader in software solutions for in-circuit test, announced they have signed a value-added reseller agreement that allows Agilent to offer DRI’s TestSight Developer software to its Medalist i3070 and Medalist i1000 in-circuit test (ICT) customers.

TestSight Developer offers a suite of software tools to help test engineers and designers maximize the effectiveness and minimize the life-cycle costs of ICT systems. An important core function is the ability to import and convert raw CAD data into ICT input files. A Design-For-Test (DFT) module allows customers to manage and optimize their circuit-board design for the best ICT coverage. A Revision Manager module maximizes the reuse of valuable test assets such as fixtures and test programs.

“TestSight Developer software technology allows for a more sophisticated solution in today’s PCB assembly manufacturing environment,” said NK Chari, director of marketing for Agilent’s Measurement Systems Division. “A good example is the TestSight Bead Pro option that allows engineers to analyze and place probes to maximize coverage. The Bead Pro module works in conjunction with our patented Bead Probe Technology, which offers a limited-access solution for our Medalist In-Circuit Tester customers. We believe that the TestSight Developer software will enable our customers to maximize their use of i3070 and i1000 platforms.”

“I am particularly excited by our partnership with Agilent because of our mutual commitment to enhancing the yield and affordability of ICT,” said Don deMille, president and CEO of DRI. “Agilent has continued to innovate in ICT and has pioneered limited access technology, such as bead probes and Cover-Extend Technology. TestSight Developer maximizes the effectiveness of these solutions by incorporating comprehensive design tools for these advanced technologies into our ICT development suite. Going forward, we see tremendous opportunities to help our customers reduce their cost-of-test by working closely with Agilent to continuously enhance their Agilent Medalist ICT development capabilities.”

Under the terms of the marketing agreement, DRI will continue as Agilent’s preferred supplier for automated-test data collection and quality management.

High Power Charging Inlets
All major truck and bus OEMs will be launching electric vehicle platforms within the next few years and in order to keep pace with on-highway and off-highway EV innovation, our charging inlets must also provide the voltage, current and charging requirements needed for these vehicles. In this episode of Chalk Talk, Amelia Dalton and Drew Reetz from TE Connectivity investigate charging inlet design considerations for the next generation of industrial and commercial transportation, the differences between AC only charging and fast charge and high power charging inlets, and the benefits that TE Connectivity’s ICT high power charging inlets bring to these kinds of designs.
