QuickLogic Announces Sensor Hub IDE and Development Board for Rapid Customization

  • Allows software, sensor and sensor algorithm engineers to customize functionality of QuickLogic’s ArcticLink 3 S1 sensor hub.
  • Complete Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and Development Board supports algorithm development through real-time board level debug for quicker time-to-market.

QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK), the innovator in low-power Customer Specific Standard Products (CSSPs), today announced the immediate availability of its IDE and Development Board for customizing its ultra-low power sensor hub and making always-on context awareness a reality. Specifically tailored for engineers familiar with sensor algorithms and software, these tools speed time-to-market by providing an abstraction layer between the sensor algorithms and software (typically expressed in a C-like language), and the hardware implementation.

The IDE, called the Flexible Fusion Engine Algorithm Tool (FFEAT), enables engineers to quickly and easily develop code and algorithms, compile to QuickLogic’s ArcticLink® 3 S1 ultra-low power sensor hub architecture, and perform clock cycle-accurate simulation and real-time hardware debugging.

QuickLogic’s Development Board complements FFEAT by providing a proven hardware platform for sensor hub hardware development, testing, and debugging. The board is designed with platform flexibility in mind by supporting connectivity to host systems, such as a PC via USB, directly to a Snapdragon™ based DragonBoard™ by Qualcomm. The boards also have flexible connectors that can be used to connect third party sensor boards for easy sensor bring-up, algorithm development and hardware debug.

“QuickLogic’s ultra-low power sensor hub enables always-on context awareness. By using our IDE and development board, developers can easily create new code, compile, and debug internally-developed sensor algorithms,” said Paul Karazuba, senior product marketing and media manager at QuickLogic. “The combination of our FFEAT IDE software, the development board, and the ArcticLink 3 S1 sensor hub significantly reduces the engineering time and effort resulting in quicker time-to-market for OEMs and sensor algorithm companies.”
