Tilera Adds Wind River Linux and Workbench Support

SAN JOSE, Calif. – May 10, 2011 – Tilera® Corporation, the leader in manycore general purpose microprocessors, today announced the addition of Wind River support for their TILEPro and TILEGx processors. Such support enables Tilera customers to utilize state-of-the-art commercial Wind River Linux and Wind River Workbench tools and enables easy migration of legacy designs to Tilera’s scalable platform.

“Tilera provides the only general purpose manycore processor in the market with a number of cores ranging from 16 to 100 cores per chip,” said Vijay Aggarwal, Vice President of Business Development at Tilera. “Wind River support for the Tilera hardware enables customers to easily migrate existing designs to our platform and scale their product across multiple performance and price points.”

Wind River has a distinct advantage within the embedded industry with its comprehensive software portfolio, which includes industry-leading embedded software operating systems, runtime technologies, development tools (including virtual systems development) and an embedded test management solution. Wind River is well known for its rich technology heritage of industry-specific software solutions, combined with global professional services and support.

Building on their succesful collaboration with Wind River Workbench and VxWorks, Wind River and Tilera are continuing to expand the number of services and applications that run on top of the Wind River Linux platform and Tilera hardware. Demonstrations of Wind River Linux and Wind River Workbench running on Tilera hardware will be available May 10-12 at Interop Las Vegas at Tilera’s booth #821.
