Updated SMARC Design Guide v2.2 Released

New revision aligns with the latest SMARC module specification and adds multiple design clarifications

Munich, July  07, 2025 – Following the recent release of the updated SMARC Module Specification v2.2, the SGET Standardization Group proudly announces the release of the SMARC Design Guide v2.2

This updated version of the Design Guide provides essential support for hardware developers and system architects by offering detailed implementation recommendations and layout best practices for SMARC-based carrier boards. It can be used by SGET members and non-members to create carrier boards based on the standard and design guide. The revision ensures full alignment with the latest specification and addresses several frequently discussed design topics from the developer community.

Key Updates from v2.1.1 to v2.2:

  • Alignment with SMARC Specification v2.2
  • Clarified guidelines for console usage on serial ports
  • Updated USB Type-C reference schematic
  • Improved recommendations for SD card and GPIO integration
  • Refined layout suggestions to support higher Ethernet speeds

With these updates, the SMARC Design Guide continues to serve as a reliable reference for robust and future-ready SMARC-based designs. The release reflects SGET’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high-quality documentation and incorporating developer feedback.
