MicroSys Electronics extends scalability of its NXP S32G vehicle network processor-based System-on-Modules

Sauerlach near Munich, Germany, July 5, 2022 – MicroSys Electronics officially announced support for the new NXP® Semiconductors S32G3 vehicle network processor at embedded world 2022 (booth 4-108), thereby extending the scalability of the NXP S32G-based miriac® System-on-Modules family with massively higher real-time data processing power for mixed-critical safety applications. The new miriac® MPX-S32G399A System-on-Module surpasses its NXP S32G2-based predecessor with 2.5 times more applications processing performance thanks to the new NXP S32G3 processor. Major improvements are eight Arm® Cortex®-A53 cores instead of only four, as well as four Arm Cortex-M7 dual-core lockstep pairs instead of … Read More → "MicroSys Electronics extends scalability of its NXP S32G vehicle network processor-based System-on-Modules"

Melexis releases free online Current Sensor Simulator

Tessenderlo, Belgium, 5 July 2022 – The new Current Sensor Simulator from Melexis simplifies the design and implementation of current-sensing solutions using the company’s proprietary IMC-Hall® technology. This tool enables customers to make the right decisions about device and shield selection.

Melexis has introduced its Current Sensor Simulator – an easy-to-use web application for rapidly selecting sensors from the company’s IMC-Hall portfolio. This interactive tool significantly accelerates the design process, enabling engineers with limited magnetic sensing experience to benefit from such technology. By filling in parameters on the web interface, users can describe their specific design requirements. Based on … Read More → "Melexis releases free online Current Sensor Simulator"

Imec Shows Path to Line Resistance Halving using Semi-Damascene with High-Aspect-Ratio Processing

LEUVEN (Belgium), June 30, 2022— This week, at the 2022 IEEE
International Interconnect Technology Conference (IITC 2022), imec, a
world-leading research and innovation hub in nanoelectronics and digital
technologies, presents options to reduce the metal line resistance at
tight metal pitches, mitigating the resistance/capacitance (RC) increase
of future interconnects using direct metal patterning. For the first
time, high aspect ratio (AR=6) processing of ruthenium (Ru) in a
semi-damascene fashion is experimentally shown to result in about 40%
resistance reduction without sacrificing area. Additional simulations
confirm the benefits at circuit level in combination with airgaps … Read More → "Imec Shows Path to Line Resistance Halving using Semi-Damascene with High-Aspect-Ratio Processing"

Autotalks unveils the world’s first V2X chipsets which support 5G-V2X for Day 2 scenarios

Day 1 V2X offers life-saving situational awareness alerts. Day 2 V2X applications can use sensor data shared by other vehicles and enable critical actions such as automatic braking

The new device has already been awarded for series production of a passenger car by a major automotive OEM

The 3rd generation chipsets will enhance the capability of Autotalks’ ZooZ micro-mobility V2X safety platform for preventing bike and scooter accidents and protecting vulnerable road users such as pedestrians

Rutgers Researchers Create Artificial Intelligence-Aided Railroad Trespassing Detection Tool

New Brunswick, N.J. (June 30, 2022) – A pair of Rutgers engineers have developed a tool aided by artificial intelligence to detect trespassing on railroad crossings and curb fatalities that have been increasing over the past decade.

Get in touch: Panasonic launches Capacitive Knob ready for standard touch sensors

Vehicle electrification is increasing – and correspondingly the extent of touch panel usage for the operation of automotive cockpit applications. Screen sizes have grown excessively – either as pillar to pillar architecture or as seamlessly designed massive center console displays.

That, however, means that displays are getting ever larger – and thus more complicated to be operated only via touch input. This can be significantly improved by incorporating “hybrid” input devices allowing an intelligent capacitive and mechanical operation.

The Magic Knob™ as a capacitive rotary encoder containing mechanical rotation & push functionality … Read More → "Get in touch: Panasonic launches Capacitive Knob ready for standard touch sensors"
