EGLA COMMUNICATIONS Announces the release of an Augmented Reality Tool for Wireless Testing

BOCA RATON, Fla., Aug. 15, 2016 /PRHandout/ — EGLA COMMUNICATIONS announces the release of a new Augmented Reality wireless network simulation and emulation tool that will benefit mobile phone developers, application designers, and telecommunication carrie rs. Augmented Reality tools are making an impact in the consumer industry, but EGLA is first in tapping the enormous potential of AR in designing mobile phones with simulation and emulation.

Our software and hardware enable mobile phone and application developers to load Google Maps into our software, edit and position antennas and RF technologies, from WiFi to 4G LTE in the map, and finally recreate an RF characterization for a city or any area of interest. The resulting simulation and all RF parameters can then be emulated by our patented wireless emulator providing a drive testing replacement and speeding up mobile phone design and testing.

The simulation environment, MobileCDS™ runs in a PC with Windows® 7 to 10, or can be accessed in our virtualized cloud platform. MobileCDS™ uses a “Ray Tracing” engine to recreate RF propagation patterns, and takes into account all models of buildings and antennas using different construction materials coefficients a nd reflection angles that are computed in our parallelized environment. Once a simulation is completed and all RF parameters such as Path Loss, Fading, RMS Delay, and others are calculated, a full emulation cycle can be executed in MobileCAD™. MobileCAD™ uses hardware RF faders and a cloud-based infrastructure to load the simulated scenario and recreate an emulated RF environment that can be transmitted to a mobile phone under test.

Mobile testing has evolved and test equipment relies on drive test logs or uses simplified statistical models that can hardly be changed and could be inaccurate. On the other hand, MobileCDS™ with MobileCAD™ can also use drive test data and statistical models, bringing a graphical design tool that connects a virtual RF environment where designers can change antenna positioning and many other parameters, while at the same time evaluating those changes and quickly testing them in a real mobile terminal with MobileCAD™.

Our p roduct is protected under US Patent 7,231,330 and all specifications, and software can be licensed for a mobile phone manufacturer, carrier, or application developer.
