Meggitt Sensing Systems introduces high-temperature triaxial, piezoelectric charge output accelerometer

April 1, 2013, San Juan Capistrano, California, USA – Meggitt Sensing Systems, a Meggitt group division, has  announced the global market introduction of the Endevco® model 2280, a hermetically sealed, triaxial,  piezoelectric charge output accelerometer with high-temperature operation to +482?C (+900?F). The small package of this sensor makes it ideally suited for vibration measurements across three orthogonal axes on aircraft engines, aerospace components, ground-based turbine engines, power plant equipment, and other machinery that operate at high temperatures.

The Endevco® model 2280 shares the same piezoelectric charge sensor system as the company’s popular single axis 2248 family with 15 years of field-proven pedigree. Offered with a sensitivity of 3 pC/g, the model features Meggitt’s proprietary piezoelectric elements in Meggitt’s patented Isobase construction, providing mechanical isolation of the sensing assembly from the mounting surface, minimizing base strain. The accelerometer is 1.35 inch (35mm) square and weighs less than 0.6 pounds (270 grams). It has three 10-32 side connectors and is mounted with two 8-32 bolts. The unit is hermetically sealed and signal ground is isolated from the outer case of the unit. Three ten-foot Endevco® model 3075M6-120, high temperature, low noise cables are supplied with the unit for error-free operation along with two mounting screws. This product is fully compliant to the European Union Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/#C and EMC Directive 2004/108/EC and bears the CE mark.

All Endevco® sensors are accompanied by a comprehensive five-year product warranty. Recommended optional accessories, sold separately, include the model 2721B charge amplifier and the 2771C remote charge converter, both available from Meggitt Sensing Systems.
