Curtiss-Wright Controls Announces Enhanced Presagis SeaWind®/GL/GN Graphics Software for Curtiss-Wright Controls X11™ and OpenGL®

OTTAWA, CANADA – OCTOBER 21, 2010 – Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing (CWCEC), a business group of Curtiss-Wright Controls and a leading designer and manufacturer of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) VME, VPX, OpenVPX™ and CompactPCI products for the rugged deployed aerospace and defense market, has announced the availability of the latest version of the Presagis SeaWind® OpenGL graphics driver software developed for use with the company’s high performance XMC-710 display controller mezzanine cards. The graphics software suite, provided directly from CWCEC, offers expanded operating environment support, with the addition of SYSGO eLinOS 4.2 and Red Hat RHEL 5.4 to its existing support for VxWorks 6.4/6.5/6.6/6.7, VxWorks/MILS2 and Wind River Linux. The SeaWind® OpenGL graphics driver software comprises a complete suite of graphical user interface (GUI) software that ease and speed the development and maintenance of complex graphics applications, such as cockpit flight displays, situation awareness displays, command and control stations, and sensor information displays for demanding embedded military systems.

“This latest release of the Presagis SeaWind® OpenGL graphics driver software strongly expresses our commitment to providing our customers with the richest and most robust software tools available in the rugged embedded graphics market” said Lynn Bamford, vice president and general manager of Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing.

“Increased visibility to enhance situational awareness is key to improving battlefield effectiveness and decision making”, said Robert Kopersiewich, Vice President and Product Segment Lead for Embedded Graphics at Presagis.  “Curtiss-Wright Controls’ XMC-710 and Presagis SeaWind OpenGL graphics driver software provides a platform for the development of live video capabilities that is ideal to help address this critical embedded military system requirement.”

OpenGL® and the X Window System are standard application programmer interfaces (APIs) for embedded graphics development and deployment in the mission critical, aerospace and defense marketplace. SeaWind® OpenGL graphics driver software developed, optimized and supported by Presagis, optimizes the integration of OpenGL® and the X Window graphics software and hardware. The software driver includes a complete X Window System server (the X11 server), a Motif X Toolkit, a OpenGL® driver for developing portable, interactive 2D and 3D graphics applications, and Video Capture API’s that enable developers to manipulate and access video data produced in a hardware abstracted manner on CWCEC’s XMC-710 board.
