LPI Launches Certified Solution Provider Program

(São Paulo, Brazil: September 2, 2010) – The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world’s premier Linux certification organization (http://www.lpi.org), announced a new partner program for technical solution providers and IT service organizations who want to promote their skills and expertise in Free and Open Source Software solutions. The Linux Professional Institute Certified Solution Provider program (LPI-CSP) will be offered to prospective partners this year in Latin America, North America and Spain and in 2011 within other regions around the world.  The LPI-CSP program is modeled after a successful initiative in LPI-Central Europe for solution providers (http://www.lpi-solution.eu/) and a similar long-standing LPI business partner program provided by LPI-Japan (http://www.lpi.or.jp/bp/).

“The LPI Certified Solution Partner program is a great way for systems developers or solution providers to showcase their knowledge and skills in Linux and Free and Open Source Software.  Participating IT businesses will be able to demonstrate to potential customers that they have qualified staff who subscribe to a recognized professional standard,” said Jim Lacey, president and CEO of LPI.  All companies that participate in this program will be part of a global database that will allow customers to determine who is available to provide these services.

Inquiries as to how to participate in the program in your local region can be made with your local LPI affiliate (see http://www.lpi.org/eng/global_partners/local_lpi_organizations) or via email at csp@lpi.org

The Linux Professional Institute is globally supported by the IT industry, enterprise customers, community professionals, government entities and the educational community. LPI’s certification program is supported by an affiliate network spanning five continents and is distributed worldwide in multiple languages at more than 7,000 testing locations. Since 1999, LPI has delivered over 260,000 exams and 87,000 LPIC certifications around the world.
