TeraSignal Unveils World’s First 4x200G Intelligent TIA with TSLink Digital Eye Monitor and Adaptive Equalizer for 1.6T Optical Interconnects

Superior Analog Performance Combined with Digital Diagnostics Enable Reliable Deployment of Energy Efficient Linear Optical Receivers

IRVINE, Calif., March 31, 2025 – OFC 2025 – TeraSignal, a leader in intelligent interconnect technology, today announced the TS9801/02, the world’s first quad 200G PAM-4 linear Transimpedance Amplifier (TIA) with TSLinkTM Digital Eye Monitoring (DEM) and adaptive equalization. As AI infrastructure moves toward higher-density optical interconnects and tighter power budgets, the TS9801/02 enables data center operators to scale efficiently, delivering the analog performance and built-in link diagnostics needed for reliable deployment of low-power 1.6T LRO and LPO modules.

One of the biggest challenges in mass deployment of linear optics at scale has been the lack of digital diagnostics in traditional discrete TIAs. Without these built-in capabilities, network operators must depend on the host to monitor and troubleshoot potential link issues, something that’s handled more directly in re-timed receivers. In addition, the absence of adaptive equalization in linear receivers makes it harder to maintain stable link performance, especially as channel conditions vary.

Utilizing a patented fully differential architecture, TS9801 delivers exceptional noise performance, bandwidth, power efficiency, and dynamic range while minimizing crosstalk between channels for re-timed optics. TS9802 builds on the exceptional analog performance of TS9801, integrating TSLink™ Digital Eye Monitoring and adaptive equalization, two essential features currently absent in existing discrete TIAs.

This new solution brings unmatched performance and real-time link diagnostics to all classes of linear optics including Linear Receive Optics (LRO), Linear Pluggable Optics (LPO), Near Package Optics (NPO) and Co-Packaged Optics (CPO).

By eliminating the DSP in the receiver, linear receive optics lower overall power consumption, but this also removes traditional digital diagnostic tools, creating challenges for data center operators. TS9802 solves this by embedding TSLinkTM Digital Eye Monitoring (DEM) within the TIA, enabling real-time link accountability without requiring a DSP-based receiver.

“The TS9802 represents a major leap forward in AI infrastructure optical connectivity by delivering real-time link diagnostics directly into the TIA,” said Dr. Armond Hairapetian, Founder and CEO of TeraSignal. “With integrated TSLinkTM Digital Eye Monitoring and adaptive equalization, we are introducing the industry’s first intelligent TIA, allowing operators to scale to 200G/lane linear optical receivers while maintaining full link visibility and control over link performance.”
