TE has been one of the leading players in mobility electrification, working with almost every automotive OEM and tier-one supplier worldwide. Almost every car has a TE component in it. Working with StartUs, a company that assists by setting up the program and identifying potential partners, TE is inviting startups, small businesses, university research teams and spin-offs working on tech solutions to join the challenge. Applications will be accepted through Oct. 31.

TE will then select six finalists to pitch their idea to a panel of TE’s CTOs, product managers and subject matter experts. The winning company will receive a $30,000 prize and the potential for collaboration with TE.

“Technological innovation is accelerating faster than ever, and it’s often difficult to stay on top of all the potential partners who can help TE make a difference,” said Dominique Freckmann, director of innovation and technology, Transportation Solutions at TE. “This open innovation challenge is a great way for us to expand our E-mobility partner system, be exposed to new ideas and unconventional approaches, interact with new talent, foster collaboration and engage in an intellectually stimulating exchange of ideas.”
