Curtiss-Wright Selected to Deliver MOSA Networking and Safety Certifiable Processing and Graphics Solutions for Aircraft Upgrade Program

Rugged COTS processing and graphics display modules provided with AC 20-152A safety certification artifacts that support system certification up to DAL-A
ASHBURN, Va. – January 31, 2023– Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division, a leading supplier of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) solutions engineered for success, today announced that it was selected by a leading system integrator to provide open standards-based safety certifiable processing and graphics technology, as well as its switching technology for use in a military aircraft upgrade program. Under the contract, Curtiss-Wright will provide the customer with its award winning1 V3-1708 single board computer and  V3-717 graphics display module. Both of these commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) rugged 3U OpenVPX™ form factor modules are provided with AC 20-152A Development Assurance for Airborne Electronic Hardware safety certification artifacts that support system certification up to DAL-A. Curtiss-Wright’s solution exceeds the MIL-HDBK-516C Airworthiness Certification Criteria of this program. Curtiss-Wright will also provide its VPX3-663 3U OpenVPX Ethernet switch module. The initial contract is valued at $2.6 million. The lifetime value of the contract is estimated at $14.5 million.
