RS Components introduces heavy-duty connectors for range of industrial applications

Delivering excellent value for machine and panel builders and maintenance engineers

LONDON, UK, 13 September, 2018 – RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), a global multi-channel distributor, has unveiled a new range of RS Pro heavy-duty connectors ( https://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/?searchTerm=p-semis-l1-p1-0918_uk&searchType=Offers&dr=N ) including screw terminals, cage-clamp terminals and housings. The components offer excellent value for customers and are designed for the industrial environment, especially in sound and lighting applications and in the robotics and machinery sectors.

The RS Pro A and B series of inserts include screw terminals and cage-clamp terminals, which offer excellent electrical and mechanical protection and UL approvals. All the inserts have a grounded contact to stop incorrect polarisation and have contacts mounted in the insert, which means no additional tooling is required. The inserts are available in popular contact-number sizes including 3 PE, 4 PE, 6 PE, 10 PE, 16 PE and 24 PE. Other features include: insulation resistance of not less than 10 giga-ohms; ability to withstand more than 500 mating cycles; industrial operating temperature range from –40 up to +125°C; and UL90V0 flammability rating

The launch also includes two series of hoods and housings made from IP65-rated die-cast metal. The RS Pro A housing series, which comes in the 3A size, is made from zinc die-cast metal and offers top entry, side entry, cable-to-cable, surface mount and bulkhead/panel-mount options. The RS Pro B housing series is made from aluminium die-cast metal and offers side-entry and top-entry hoods and bulkhead/panel-mounting and surface-mount housing options with double metal levers to provide secure locking. The B series is available in the 10B, 16B and 24B sizes with a 6B size option also available with a single locking lever.

All the products come with the RS Pro Seal of Approval, which provides confirmation that they have been tested to meet all the appropriate industry standards. The connectors are now shipping from RS in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.
