EFCO Announces the High Performance, Fanless Embedded Box PC, SmartMOD, with PoE function

SmartMOD meets the demand for industrial vision control applications
San Diego, California  – March 13, 2018 EFCO, a world-class supplier of industrial PC, Gaming and EMS solutions, today introduced the high performance embedded box PC, SmartMOD, which includes a Power over Ethernet (PoE option). This embedded system is equipped with an Intel® 7th-generation Kaby Lake Core™ ULV processor for diverse industrial applications.
“Built on Intel’s latest processor, SmartMOD is well-suited for the high-end industrial market,” stated Ron Mazza, CEO EFCOtec Corporation. “It’s fanless architecture also makes this PC Box easy to deploy in numerous applications.  It is especially ideal for industrial vision control applications such as machine vision and security because the POE feature means cameras can be powered directly from our system.”
The 7th Generation Intel® Core™ ULV Processors family is an ideal ultra-low power CPU all within a thermal design power (TDP) of 15W. They meet various high computing-performance requirement applications such as Industrial control systems, surveillance systems, machine vision control systems, auto optical inspection equipment, and test & measurement equipment.
SmartMOD Features
The compact size of SmartMOD and its standard I/O are well-suited for most market requirements. Features include 6 x Giga LAN ports ( 4 x PoE option), 4x USB (4x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 2.0), 1 x HDMI or 1 x VGA, 1 x Display Port, 16-bit programmable GPIO, 4 x RS-232/422/485, 2 x RS-232, 2 x Mini-PCIe with SIM socket (PCIe+USB+USIM), and 1x Mini-PCIe socket (PCIe+USB).
In addition, the wide range of input voltages offered (+9 V ~ +32 V) can satisfy even the most demanding applications. Moreover, SmartMOD PoE is designed to provide the power needed for connecting to IP CAM devices, making it an ideal choice for industrial vision control applications.
