CN Innovations Announces New Products Made with ClearOhm® Inks from Cambrios Advanced Materials

SUNNYVALE, Calif., and Tokyo, Oct. 3, 2016 —Cambrios Advanced Materials, the leader in silver nanowire-based solutions for the transparent conductor markets, and CN Innovations (CNi), a pioneer in on-demand manufacturing of touch panels using laser technology, today announced that CNi is producing 30- and 40-inch diagonal class touch panels using Cambrios’ ClearOhm® silver nanowires. These are the first new end products based on ClearOhm Ink shipped by Cambrios Advanced Materials, which was formed in April 2016 to continue research, development and sales of silver nanowire inks originally produced by Cambrios Technologies Corporation which shut down in February 2016.

CNi has been producing large volumes of touch sensors for laptops, PC monitors and All-In-One (AIO) computers up to 27-inch diagonal size since 2013 using transparent conductive films based on ClearOhm silver nanowire technology. Launch of 30 ohms/sq ClearOhm film based on Generation 5 silver nanowire inks from Cambrios Advanced Materials has enabled CNi to push the touch sensors to a size range beyond 40-inch diagonal. This thin, light and shatterproof touch sensor can be coupled with digital signage and public information displays using either rigid LCDs or flexible ePaper displays.

“Cambrios Advanced Materials has worked hard to quickly restart the production of silver nanowire inks,” said Eric Chong, General Manager for Touch Business Unit at CNi. “Commercial availability of high conductivity silver nanowire film from multiple Cambrios customers in Japan and Korea ensures our business continuity and allows us to increase our product offerings into new market segments.”

“We are delighted to have such loyal and innovative customers like CNi who continued to work closely with us as we restarted our business at Cambrios,” said Dave Yao, vice president of worldwide sales for Cambrios. “CNi has worked diligently to requalify film made with our ClearOhm materials and at the same time has developed new products to address the digital signage market.”

Cambrios will be showcasing its ClearOhm technology, including touch panels made by CNi, at CEATEC 2016 in Cambrios’ exclusive suite at the Hotel Manhattan. CEATEC is being held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture Japan from October 4th to 7th, 2016.
