PCB® Launches New High Temperature Charge Accelerometer with UHT-12™ Element

DEPEW NY USA- July 20, 2016- PCB Piezotronics announced the release of Model 357A100, a new high temperature differential charge accelerometer with a UHT-12™ sensing element. This accelerometer is for use during gas turbine engine research and testing and has industry standard 3-hole mount. This new model features a well-balanced, differential output that is isolated from case ground to reduce electrical noise found near airplane and helicopter gas turbine engines. Its charge output is self-generating and does not require an external power source.

The new UHT-12™ crystal technology features:

  • Absence of pyroelectric noise spikes up to 900 °F (482 °C).
  • Sensitivity that remains more consistent over a wide temperature change.
  • Shear mode crystals isolated from base strain and transverse measurement errors.
  • No depletion of oxygen at high temperatures, eliminating the need for a vent or window in the housing.
  • PCB® offers a family of ultra high temperature accelerometers and pressure sensors for aerospace propulsion. These sensors are ideal for gas turbine engine research and monitoring. Additional information about PCB’s ultra high temperature sensors are found at www.pcb.com/aerospace/ultrahightemperature.
