New Signal Generators Hold the Line on Price, Boost Performance

BEAVERTON, Ore., August 18, 2015 – Tektronix, Inc., a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, has expanded its AFG3000C Arbitrary/Function Generator Series with two 150 MHz models (one or two channels) that deliver more performance than competitive offerings while holding the line on pricing.

Slotting between existing 100 MHz and 240 MHz models in the Tektronix AFG3000C lineup, the new AFG3151C and AFG3152C deliver 25 percent more bandwidth and 59 percent more output zone with +/-5 V DC offset at the same price as competitive offering in this segment. Beyond delivering leading price-performance at a popular bandwidth level, the AFG3000 Series feature an intuitive user interface that shows more information at a single glance, boosting productivity by allowing users to focus on the task at hand.

“As this latest introduction demonstrates, Tektronix continues to lead the test and measurement industry by offering best-in-class instruments at disruptive prices,” said Michael Ewald, general manager, Bench Products Division, Tektronix. “What’s more, we are giving our customers more options to select the appropriate bandwidth level for their signal generation needs while also lowering their costs compared to other alternatives on the market.”

Today’s complex designs require a variety of stimulus signals during test. All models in the AFG3000C Series include 12 standard waveforms, arbitrary waveform capability, and signal impairment options to support a wide range of application needs with one instrument. A large display and 25 shortcut keys make these instruments both easy to learn and easy to use. Included ArbExpress software allows waveforms to be easily created from any Tektronix oscilloscope, or defined by standard functions, equation editor and waveform math.

Pricing & Availability

The 150 MHz bandwidth AFG3000C Arbitrary/Function Generators are available now worldwide. The one-channel AFG3151C is priced at $4,690 and the two-channel AFG3152C is priced at $6,690. Prices are US MSRP.
