SIGFOX Joins Samsung at Internet of Things World to Demonstrate Its New IoT Network

SAN FRANCISCO – May 12, 2015 –SIGFOX, the global leader in cost-effective, energy-efficient Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity, will be demonstrating their new IoT Network at Samsung’s booth during Internet of Things World to demonstrate the practical and easy-to-use features of SIGFOX’s IoT network and Samsung’s new ARTIK IoT platform.

SIGFOX, which recently deployed its IoT network in San Francisco, and the newly launched ARTIK platform that helps speed development of IoT devices and software solutions, will demonstrate a simple set up and operation for tracking stolen bicycles.

“At Samsung, we are keen to work with innovative partners, like SIGFOX, to showcase the ARTIK platform’s ability to support multiple technology standards that solve real-world problems in a quicker and easy way,” said Curtis Sasaki, Vice President of Ecosystem, Samsung Electronics. “This bicycle-tracking application demonstrates the many benefits of the ARTIK Platform, including low energy consumption, a robust and open OS for quick app development, unique privacy capabilities and easy cloud connectivity.”

The system utilizes SIGFOX’s network in San Francisco, the first U.S. city to benefit from the company’s high-capacity, long-range and two-way connectivity. The network deployment marks the start of SIGFOX’s expansion in the U.S., following network rollouts in France, the U.K., the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and several major international cities.

“This bicycle-tracking demonstration shows how easy it will be to develop and install all sorts of practical, useful applications using the SIGFOX network and Samsung’s new ARTIK platform,” said Stuart Lodge, SIGFOX executive vice president of global sales. “We look forward to working with hundreds of IoT companies based in San Francisco to take advantage of the first citywide Internet of Things network in the United States.”

SIGFOX’s team is in Samsung’s booth, Moscone Center West Booth #140, during Internet of Things World.

About SIGFOX

SIGFOX is the only provider of dedicated cellular connectivity for Internet of Things and Machine-to-Machine communications. The company’s network complements existing high-bandwidth systems by providing economical, energy-efficient two-way transmission of small quantities of data, thus lowering barriers to wide implementation of IoT and M2M solutions, and greatly extending the battery and service life of connected devices. SIGFOX’s global network is deployed through the SIGFOX Network Operator™ partnership program, with more than 400,000 square miles already covered. The company is headquartered in Labège, France, and has offices in San Francisco, Calif., and Madrid, Spain.
