PCB Automotive Division Adds New MEMS DC Response Accelerometers

March 31, Depew, N.Y. — PCB® Automotive Sensors Division is pleased to announce the addition of a new series of MEMS DC Response Accelerometers. This series is specifically designed to improve the precision of low-frequency vibration and motion in automotive applications.

Offered in full-scale ranges from ±2g to ±200g, the new accelerometers are available in single axis (Series 3711E and Series 3741E) and triaxial (Series 3713E) configurations.

“The new MEMS DC Response Accelerometer series features low spectral noise, and high resolution, which makes them ideal for a wide variety of automotive testing applications including durability, ride & handling, and many others,” explains Rob Mydzian, Product Marketing Manager of PCB’s Automotive Sensors Division.

The new robust units include gas-damped, silicon MEMS sensing elements for repeatable performance and offer high-frequency overload protection. Series 3711E and Series 3713E have a hermetically sealed titanium case, and Series 3741E units have rugged anodized aluminum housing, enabling them to perform in harsh environments.

Electrically, the units include a single-ended (Series 3711E and Series 3713E) or differential (Series 3741E) output signal with power, signal, and ground leads for each channel. Supply voltage regulation permits operation from +6 VDC to +30 VDC and the low-noise, low-impedance output signal may be transmitted over long cable lengths without degradation.

Electrical Connectors for Hermetically Sealed Applications
Sponsored by Mouser Electronics and Bel
Many hermetic chambers today require electrical pathways to provide internal equipment with power, data or signals, or to receive data and signals from equipment within the chamber. In this episode of Chalk Talk, Amelia Dalton and Brad Taras from Cinch Connectivity Solutions explore the role that seals and connectors play in the performance of hermetic chambers. They examine the methodologies to determine hermetic seal leaks, the benefits of epoxy hermetic seals, and how Cinch Connectivity’s epoxy-based seals and hermetic connectors can add value to your next design.
