Mentor Graphics Signs Agreement with CADD Edge to Distribute Electronic Design and Analysis Products

WILSONVILLE, Ore., February 16, 2015 — Mentor Graphics Corporation (NASDAQ: MENT) today announced an agreement with CADD Edge, Inc., a leading distributor of electrical and mechanical design and analysis tools, to provide Mentor Graphics® electronic systems design products to customers in the eastern USA. These Mentor products provide customers with the world’s leading printed circuit board (PCB) design, high-performance analysis, PCB Design for Manufacturability (DFM) checking, and thermal analysis capabilities. Now customers have access to the capabilities that distinguish the Mentor Graphics portfolio and enable higher design productivity, product quality, and cost and cycle reduction.

This agreement marks a departure from CADD Edge’s three-year relationship with Altium, also a manufacturer of printed circuit board design software. CADD Edge has a proven successful history in selling printed circuit board design tools and solutions into their market. The software tools from Mentor  complement CADD Edge’s existing product suite of software and hardware from SolidWorks, Omnify, Stratasys and this relationship allows Mentor to broaden its reach in the USA market.

“We see a definite trend in the industry where companies are developing more complex and higher-performing electronic products,” states Matt Fawcett, manager of New Technology and Innovation at CADD Edge. “With Mentor’s full family of PCB design, signal and power integrity, and CFD thermal analysis products we will now be able to meet the needs of the entire industry including the most advanced. We are very excited about this change in our offerings.”

Mentor Graphics is the undisputed market leader in PCB design and analysis tools with more than twice the market share of its closest competitor. Mentor Graphics offerings include PCB systems design products targeted at the full spectrum of organizations from the individual designer, to mid-sized project teams, and large global enterprises.

“CADD Edge is a welcome addition to our extensive network of worldwide distributors,” states Ulrich Bruder, global distribution manager, Focus Products Organization of Mentor Graphics. “We understand that for advanced product design, the gap between electrical and mechanical design is becoming non-existent and CADD Edge’s product offerings and expertise will provide customers with products they require to design these advanced products more efficiently.”

Mentor Graphics products to be distributed by CADD Edge include:

•       PADS® family of PCB design tools;
•       HyperLynx® electrical signal, analog and power integrity analysis products;
•       FloTHERM® XT thermal analysis software;
•       FloEFD® computational fluid dynamics (CFD) fluid flow and heat transfer analysis tools;
•       Valor® design for PCB manufacturing analysis products.
