Keysight Technologies Expands Use of its FPGA Development Kit for Full Range of High-Speed Digitizers

SANTA ROSA, Calif., Jan. 9, 2015 – Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) introduced today an updated version of its U5340A FPGA development kit. The new version allows for expanded deployment of on board IP signal processing across the full range of Keysight PCIe high-speed digitizers and the 12-bit AXIe 8-channel wideband digital receiver/digitizer

The FPGA development kit is a complete environment for the design, verification and implementation of real-time, user-defined signal processing algorithms. The kit combines outstanding tools capabilities to exploit the full density and speed of the FPGA. The overall time-to-market is shortened with the easy-to-use development flow and debug.

Included in the kit are updates to the Mentor Graphics and Xilinx EDA tools, simplification of processes, and improvement of simulation models. These integrations allow for greater optimization of resources and a larger user core space available on the FPGA.

“The Keysight FPGA development kit allowed us to integrate our custom signal processing firmware in a timely manner, preserving the signal integrity and high-speed digitizer functionalities,” said Robert Ortman of GTRI. “Moreover, we were able to transfer our processing function from one platform to another in only a few days. This allowed us to save significant engineering efforts.”

More information about the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) project is available at www.gtri.gatech.edu/casestudy/smaller-lidars-could-allow-uavs-conduct-underwater.

“We consider this a versatile and innovative product,” said Didier Lavanchy, operation manager for Keysight’s high-speed digitizers group. “It is an important step towards an easy integration of signal processing algorithms into existing environments, which reduces the overall time-to-market for our customers.”
