Larson Davis Enhances Environmental Noise Monitoring Systems

July 18, 2013, Depew, N.Y. – Larson Davis has added the SEN032 wind sensor to its product line, providing the industry’s first low-cost alternative for customers who want a wind-only option for environmental noise monitoring systems.

The SEN032 incorporates the Vaisala WMT52 ultrasonic wind sensor (with support) into the NoiseTutor and Model 831 based noise monitoring systems. The SEN032 can be used in a variety of applications such as monitoring wind turbine noise, environmental noise and construction noise.

The triangular design and multiple points of the SEN032 wind sensor deliver the best solution available for data acquisition. The SEN032 has no moving parts, making it easy to use and transport. The system is also compact, durable, and affordable — a perfect option for customers who seek a wind only sensor.

Ken Cox, Product Manager at Larson Davis, stated, “Larson Davis is proud to announce that the NoiseTutor and Model 831 sound level meter now supports the SEN032 wind sensor. The affordable price of each product provides a great alternative for applications such as wind farm noise monitoring or road tunnel ventilation that require measurement of wind speed and direction.”
