KACST (King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology) launches WaferCatalyst Silicon prototyping services

Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, May 18th, 2013 – King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s National Science Agency & National Laboratories announced the launching of WaferCatalyst prototyping and small volume production services.

WaferCatalyst is partnering with leading wafer manufacturing facilities around the world to offer various advanced technologies to end users globally. The technologies available from WaferCatalyst services through its partners are for digital/logic design, analog/mixed-signal/RF design, high speed design, Image sensing and various other specialty designs. KACST plans to offer its WaferCatalyst services to academic, research and commercial organizations in Saudi Arabia and globally.

H.H. Prince Dr. Turki bin Saud bin Mohammad Al Saud, Vice President for Research Institutes of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, emphasized “Offering of WaferCatalyst service is the culmination of KACST’s capacity building in semiconductor technologies and we hope that it will mark the start of a period of innovation in the field of semiconductor design in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the region. We believe that with our strong ecosystem, growing pool of expertise as well as our strong network of partnerships in wafer fabrication, design software and support services, WaferCatalyst can provide differentiated services to the national and global semiconductor industry.”

KACST is both the Saudi Arabian national science agency and its national laboratories.
